All three elementary schools in Cocalico will unite home and school through the
One School, One Book Family Reading Program!
Every elementary family will receive a copy of A Boy Called Bat. Readers will meet Bat, an unforgettable young boy on the Autism spectrum, and will follow along as he faces and rises to the challenges at both home and school.
From January 6 through January 24, students and families will read the book together at home while celebrating and exploring the novel at school. It’s all part of One School, One Book, a unique, national family literacy program. Thank you to the Cocalico Education Foundation for sponsoring the program this year.
Staff members have recorded themselves reading a chapter of the book so that children and their family can listen and read along with the story at home. Please click on the staff members' pictures below to hear these recordings. A copy of the reading schedule can be found by clicking here.
